You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

Yo La Tengo @ Bowery Ballroom
It's the start of Yo La Tengo's annual Hanukkah Run which returns to Bowery Ballroom for a second year. (The whole eight-show run is sold out.) Who will be tonight's guest comedian and musicians?

Neneh Cherry @ National Sawdust
Most famous for her hit "Buffalo Stance," Neneh Cherry is an iconoclast who has always done things her way. After a long break from music, she returned in 2014 with Blank Project and then this year with Broken Politics, both of which were produced by Four Tet. She only made her NYC live debut three years ago, so this show is a rare chance to see her, and in a very intimate setting, too.

Chandra, Future Punx, Space Meow Doll @ ALPHAVILLE
No wave artist Chandra was only 12 when her band's debut EP came out in 1980. It was the only record they ever put out but their song "Subways" was sampled by The Avalanches and the EP just got reissued with a bonus 12" worth of unreleased songs. Backed by a bunch of current Toronto indie musicians, Chandra plays tonight.

Chandra @ Rough Trade
Earlier in the day (2 PM) Chandra plays a free show at Rough Trade.

Mark Kozelek & Kevin Corrigan singing Christmas songs @ City Winery
For a second year, Sun Kil Moon's Mark Kozelek is teaming with ubiquitous indie actor Kevin Corrigan for a night of Christmas song and surely some good stories.

The Klezmatics, Susan McKeown @ Murmrr Theatre
Yo La Tengo are not the only ones celebrating Hanukkah on stage tonight. Veteran klezmer band The Klezmatics "celebrate Yiddish culture at the time of year when candles and family warm the dark nights."

Adam Green, Meredith Graves, Store Front, Oscar Albis Rodriguez @ Union Pool
This afternoon show, featuring the one-of-a-kind Adam Green, is a benefit for local school PS34.

Feels, Roya, Gustaf @ ALPHAVILLE
L.A. band Feels make catchy, glammy punk and are gearing up to release their next LP, Post Earth, in February via Wichita Records. This is a solid triple bill with garage-pop band Royal and psychedelic art-punks Gustaf.

Leftover Crack, Negative Approach, Crazy and The Brains @ Brooklyn Bazaar
This is a pretty incredible punk show all around, with ska-core greats Leftover Crack, pioneering hardcore legends Negative Approach, and high-energy newer-comers Crazy & the Brains.

Mitski, Downtown Boys, Sasami @ Brooklyn Steel
Mitski’s fantastic new album Be The Cowboy is one of her best yet and one of the year’s best, and she’s also bigger than ever. This is night three of her entirely sold-out, four-night run at Brooklyn Steel tonight. Political punks Downtown Boys and indie rocker Sasami are both great openers, so don’t miss ’em.

The Garden, LE1F, Machine Girl @ Elsewhere
Genre-defying weirdos The Garden are back on the road, and they've got underground rapper Le1f joining them, which is very cool.

Makaya McCraven with Shabaka Hutchings, Dezron Douglas, Brandee Younger, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Jeff Parker, Nubya Garcia, Joel Ross, Carlos Nino, Josh Johnson, Junius Paul, Malik Abdul-Rahmaan @ Le Poisson Rouge
Jazz drummer/producer Makaya McCraven recently released the great Universal Beings, which is a true jazz album but has crossed over with hip hop and electronic music audiences too. He made it with tons of guest musicians, and tonight he performs the album's music with many of those guests.
