What's going on Sunday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

U.S. Girls, Badge Epoque @ Union Pool
Having played Governors Ball yesterday, U.S. Girls play somewhere much, much smaller today and it will be a tight squeeze getting everyone in their band on that stage.

Magik Markers, Weak Signal, Telepathic Band @ Union Pool (SUMMER THUNDER)
Early in the day, Union Pool kicks off the 2019 edition of it’s free, outdoor Summer Thunder series (which moves to Sundays this year) with Massachusetts noise trio Magik Markers. 2 PM start.

Governors Ball @ Randall’s Island Park
Today’s the final day of the annual Governors Ball at Randall’s Island Park, featuring headliners The Strokes, Nas, and SZA, alongside other great acts including Kaytranada, Sheck Wes, Beast Coast, Noname, Soccer Mommy, The Underachievers, and more.

HOT 97 Summer Jam @ MetLife Stadium
Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam usually brings together many of rap’s biggest names, and this year’s show is no different, with performances from Cardi B, Meek Mill, Migos, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Megan Thee Stallion, Blueface, and many others.

Dark Funeral, Belphegor, Incantation, Hate, Vale of Pnath, Nightmarer @ Brooklyn Bazaar
The fifth-annual “Devastation On The Nation” tour brings together a handful of exciting metal acts for a cross-country tour, and it stops in Brooklyn tonight. Among these bands include Polish black metal greats HATE, who are playing their first US dates in eight years.

Ravyn Lenae @ Brooklyn Bowl
R&B vocalist Ravyn Lenae will be making a special headlining stop in Brooklyn later tonight, following her GovBall set yesterday afternoon.

Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Pinocchio @ Our Wicked Lady
NYC-based punks Hank Wood and the Hammerheads bring their unbridled live show to Brooklyn tonight, with opening sets from Pinocchio, who are opening for Bikini Kill at Kings Theatre, and DJ Jonathan Toubin.

The Mavericks @ Stone Pony
Nashville-based The Mavericks play their final of two shows in Asbury Park, NJ tonight, before heading to NYC later this week. They’re currently on tour celebrating their 30th anniversary.

Oozing Wound, Dog, PC Worship, Chat Logs @ The Glove
Oozing Wound play their second NYC date this weekend at The Glove, as part of their US tour behind this year’s High Anxiety.

Shellshag, Notches, Substitute, Plutoness @ ALPHAVILLE
Long-running DIY duo Shellshag have been at it for more than 20 years, and their unique setup — featuring a custom-built double mic stand that has them facing each other the whole time — brings an added level of intimacy and excitement to their shows.

Yngwie Malmsteen @ Starland Ballroom
Swedish guitar icon Yngwie Malmsteen has been at it for over four decades now, and he’ll be making a stop at NJ’s Starland Ballroom tonight.

Yanni @ Lunt-Fontanne Theatre
Composer and new age megastar Yanni has played the Acropolis but gets up close and personal with this Broadway run at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (which recently hosted Morrissey), where he’ll perform stripped-down piano renditions of his PBS favorites, plus stories about his long career and creative process, and an audience Q&A.

Macy Gray @ Iridium
Macy Gray has made many stops at NYC jazz club Iridium in the past, and she’ll play two consecutive nights at the venue this week; this is night one.

Ian Hunter and The Rant Band @ City Winery
Following a tour earlier this year with the 1974 lineup of Mott The Hoople, singer Ian Hunter is celebrating his 80th birthday with a run of solo City Winery shows, which continues tonight.
