You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...

Cult of Luna, Emma Ruth Rundle, Intronaut @ Gramercy Theater
20+ years into their career, Swedish post-metal greats Cult of Luna returned last year with A Dawn To Fear, an album so great we named it one of the best of 2019. As we wrote then, it has them seeming “totally revitalized” and “nailed the middle ground between heavy, atmospheric, and beautiful.” Much to our excitement, they also announced a rare North American tour that begins this week and lands at the fairly intimate Gramercy Theater on Saturday night. It’s a great triple bill that features Emma Ruth Rundle and Intronaut. Emma — who was chosen to be one of the curators at the highly respected and always amazing Roadburn fest this year — is a rising force in the metal world and beyond. Ex-frontperson of her own post-metal band Red Sparowes (who are reuniting for Roadburn), she has released a series of great singer-songwriter style dream pop albums under own name in recent years, as well as collaborations with other exciting artists like Jaye Jayle (Evan Patterson of Young Widows), Thou, and Thrice. LA’s proggier sludgesters Intronaut — now signed to Metal Blade — are celebrating the release of their sixth album Fluid Existential Inversions this week and will probably be headlining their own show at a venue at least as big as Saint Vitus next time they’re in town.

Harry Belafonte 93rd Birthday Celebration with Common, Maxwell, Shelia E., Talib Kweli, Aloe Blacc, Alice Smith, Macy Gray, John Forte, Gael Faye, Resistance Revival Chorus @ Apollo Theater
Musician, activist and actor Harry Belafonte turns 93 in March and to celebrate there will be a big tribute show featuring an amazing group of musicians.

Lou Reed Birthday Celebration @ Bowery Electric
Lou Reed, who died in 2013, would’ve been 79 on Monday, and tonight's a birthday bash in his honor, featuring a bunch of very cool guests vocalists to sing at the party, including Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), Steve Wynn (The Dream Syndicate), Oliver Ackermann (A Place to Bury Strangers), Garland Jeffreys, Stu Spasm (Art Gray Noizz Quintet, Lubricated Goat), Patti Rothberg, Dougie Needles (Joan Jett’s band) and more.

Love and Rockers, Mark Kelly of The Roots, S.B.M., Climates @ Union Pool
When he's not playing in TV on the Radio (and doing others stuff), Jaleel Bunton leads this very able reggae band.

GZA and His Live Band @ Blue Note (two shows)
Wu-Tang Clan and their members have been busy as usual, and right now GZA is in the midst of playing some shows that celebrate the 25th anniversary of his classic Liquid Swords LP. Tonight, he's back at the iconic Blue Note Jazz Club for two more full-band gigs.

Michelle Buteau @ Sony Hall (2 shows)
Comedian, podcaster and actress Michelle Buteau does early and late shows tonight.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
