You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows, but here are some highlights...
Panorama Festival @ Randall's Island
NYC’s inaugural Panorama Festival wraps up today and the schedule is loaded with great acts. The reunited LCD Soundsystem headlines, and there's also A$AP Rocky, Run the Jewels, Kurt Vile, The Front Bottoms, White Lung, and more.
Guns N' Roses @ MetLife Stadium
Dubbed the “Not in This Lifetime” tour, what seemed like an impossibility — Axl back with Slash (Duff, too) — is here, in the flesh for two shows at Metlife.
Flight of the Conchords, Eugene Mirman @ Central Park SummerStage
New Zealand’s “fourth most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo” are back in action, and Jemaine and Brett play SummerStage tonight with their old pal Eugene Mirman opening the show.
Tommy Stinson, Frankie Lee @ The Bowery Electric
The Replacements' reunion appears to be done, but Tommy Stinson is finding ways to stay active. Tonight he plays NYC's intimate Bowery Electric.
Ryan Adams (solo acoustic), Amanda Shires @ The Capitol Theatre
The wildly prolific, wildly talented Ryan Adams plays solo acoustic tonight. It’s worth showing up early for alt-country violinist/guitarist/singer Amanda Shires too.
Bombino @ The Surf Lodge (Montauk)
The free shows at Montauk's Surf Lodge continue with the great Tuareg guitarist Bombino.
Doomsquad, Beat Detectives, Untitled Queen @ Trans-Pecos
Having just played two shows with Holy Fuck, Toronto's DOOMSQUAD stick around NYC for their own headlining show.
RIPS, VATS, Juicy, HVAC @ ALPHAVILLE.
Brooklyn band Rips have been making a name for themselves over the last couple years, drawing influence from late ’70s NYC bands like Television, The Feelies (NJ, yes), and Student Teachers. The band are putting the finishing touches on their debut album which was produced by Parquet Courts’ Austin Brown, and play tonight with Seatle post punks VATS.
Gabriel Kahane @ Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2
Gabriel Kahane has worked with Sufjan Stevens, Rufus Wainwright and more, and if you like those artists but you aren't familiar with Gabriel, you may like his stuff too.
Colin Hay @ City Winery
The onetime Men At Work frontman plays solo tonight.
KITE, We Are Temporary @ (le) poisson rouge
Swedish duo Kite have been together for nearly a decade, making dark, danceable pop that may remind you of another Scandinavian duo that starts with K. Tonight is their first ever U.S. show.
The Macaulay Culkin* Show w/ Petey DeAbreu, Ben Kronberg, Robert Dean, Branson Reese, Farah Brook & Patti Harrison and hosted by Sally Burtnick & Brett Davis @ Shea Stadium
You never know what to expect at The Macaulay Culkin Show, hosted by Brett Davis. They’ve bought dinner for the crowd from Boston Market, had a real live wedding and other fun stuff. It’s a great roster of guests tonight too.
75 Dollar Bill, Gospell of Mars @ Max Fish
The title of 75 Dollar Bill's new album, Wood / Metal / Plastic / Pattern / Rhythm / Rock, is a fitting sort of descriptor for the jazzy, jammy, textured and very cool music they make. Free show.
