Blonde Redhead with American Contemporary Music Ensemble at Co-Cathedral of Saint Joseph
Blonde Redhead in Brooklyn in 2016 (more by Greg Cristman)

What's going on Sunday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Blonde Redhead @ Le Poisson Rouge (early and late)
Like they did at Co-Cathedral of Saint Joseph in 2016, Blonde Redhead will team with the American Contemporary Music Orchestra for full performances of their classic 2004 album Misery is a Butterfly at Le Poisson Rouge tonight. They’re doing two shows, 5 PM and 9 PM.

globalFEST @ Webster Hall
NYC’s annual world music festival globalFEST returns tonight with music from all over the globe. Some highlights include NYC-via-Ghana psychedelic soul singer Jojo Abot (who recently toured with Lauryn Hill), Estonian dream-folk singer Maarja Nuut, DC hip hop/go-go vets Rare Essence, and plenty more.

Entombed A.D., Full of Hell, Turbid North, Knight Terror @ Saint Vitus
Entombed A.D., a current incarnation of death n’ roll greats Entombed, are back in town and they’ve got young grinders Full of Hell providing direct support. Should be a fun, loud night.

Thelonious Monk 100th Birthday Improv Show @ Littlefield (Winter Jazzfest)
Jazz legend Thelonious Monk’s 100th birthday will be celerabted at this show with a pretty crazy lineup that includes Marc Ribot, Erik Friedlander, Linda Oh, Trevor Dunn, and a bunch of others.

Champagne Jerry @ Joe’s Pub
Novelty rapper and Ad-Rock (of Beastie Boys) collaborator Champagne Jerry returns to his frequent home of Joe’s Pub tonight for his ‘In The Champagne Room’ show.

Jaye Bartell, Lina Tullgren, Damian Weber @ Union Pool
“Jaye is an amazing person and songwriter and sometimes when he would be singing tears would well up in the bottom of my eyelids as I watched his bold silhouette up there beneath the stage lights” – Kevin Morby.
