Karl Blau, Guy Sands, Nixon Mask @ Wonders of Nature
Having made records for Northwest indie labels K and Knw-Yr-Own,singer-songwriter released his most recent album, 2017’s Out Her Space, on Bella Union. On it he worked with Matthew E White’s Spacebomb family of musicians who helped him bring his globe-trotting style to larger life. This intimate show happens at Williamsburg’s newest venue.

Anti-Flag, Stray From The Path, The White Noise, Sharptooth @ Highline Ballroom
Anti-Flag have been railing against the government in their music for two decades, but they feel especially vital right now in the Trump era. This tour is billed as the “Silence=Violence Tour” and every band on the tour “is predicated upon an ethic of caring about more than just themselves,” Anti-Flag says.

Kondabolu Brothers @ Littlefield
Hari Kondabolu (who you may know from The Problem with Apu and W. Kamau Bell’s show) and his brother Ashok (aka Dapwell of Das Racist) have revived their podcast which will soon be on the Earwolf Network. No guests for tonight’s taping have been announced.

Monastic and Ecstatic: A Glimpse into the Life and Legacy of Alice Coltrane @ MoMA PS1
Part of MoMA PS1’s “Sunday Sessions” series, this is an all-day tribute to Alice Coltrane, featuring rare audio and video recordings from the extended Coltrane family’s private archive, as well as discussion, presentations, and performances of Coltrane’s music by Laraaji, Kelsey Lu with Kyp Malone, Troy “Mobius” Simms, and Brandee Younger.

Wharton Tiers Ensemble, Antietam, Escape By Ostrich @ The Safari Room at El Cortez
Wharton Tiers, who has engineered records by Sonic Youth, Glenn Branca, Helmet, Dinosaur Jr, White Zombie, Quicksand, Unrest, and more, has led his Ensemble for two decades. They headline this show that also features NYC indie greats Antietam.

Aparna Nancherla, Jo Firestone @ Union Hall
Does anyone sleep in comedy? Jo Firestone and Aparna Nancherla are two of the hardest working comedians in NYC and also have their own Monday series, Butterboy, but you can catch them here too.
