What's going on Thursday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Ex Hex, Moaning @ Bowery Ballroom
Ex Hex, aka the power trio of Mary Timony, Betsy Wright and Laura Harris, recently released their sophomore album It’s Real, and it’s cut from the same glammy, punky power pop cloth as their 2014 debut but it’s tighter and bigger-sounding in every way.

YOB, Voivod, Amenra @ Warsaw
This is a ridiculously stacked triple metal bill with three long-running bands who all have good recent albums. They’re also all just a bit different — YOB are sludge, Voivod are prog-thrash, and Amenra are post-metal — but will all surely sound great together.

Lady Lamb @ Rough Trade
Lady Lamb’s anticipated new album Even In The Tremor comes out this Friday, and she’s celebrating with this Rough Trade in-store.

Sloppy Jane, Gustaf, Zhe Zhe @ Baby’s All Right
Sloppy Jane kick off their April residency at Baby’s — they’re calling it “If He Was a Dog He Would Be Alright” — with quality support from post-punks Gustaf and comedy group Zhe Zhe.

Jerry Seinfeld @ Beacon Theatre (2 shows)
Jerry’s playing the Beacon once a month through the summer — early and late shows tonight.

Xeno & Oaklander, Katie Rex, Plastic Ivy @ Elsewhere Zone One
As Xeno & Oaklander, Sean McBride and Liz Wendelbo make synthpop the old fashioned way, using vintage analogue gear, step sequencers, patch cables, and no laptops….but maybe a Commodore Amiga.

Matmos, Keith Fullerton Whitman @ Pioneer Works
Matmos’ new album is all about plastic and expect a lot of the synthetic substance in various forms to be in play at this record release show.

Ende Tymes @ Secret Project Robot
Ende Tymes, a three-day festival of noise and experimentation, gets underway tonight and includes sets from SADAF, Bonnie Baxter, King Vision Ultra and more.

The Gooch Palms, Max Pain and The Groovies, Sahd Wyte Guyz, Cumgirl8 @ Trans-Pecos
Australian duo The Gooch Palms will bring their mulletted garage rock riffs tonight, alongside local psych band Max Pain and the Groovies.

The Sadies @ Union Pool
Twangy Canadian rock greats The Sadies had to cancel dates last year after drummer Mike Belitsky broke his shoulder, but he’s recovered and, having just wrapped up a tour with Kurt Vile, hit Union Pool for a makeup three-show run. Tonight’s the last show.

Aggression, Suaka, Black Mass @ Saint Vitus
Montreal thrash vets Aggression were only around long enough to record two albums in the ’80s, 1986’s Forgotten Skeleton (which was shelved until 2004) and 1987’s The Full Treatment, but they’ve now been reunited for a few years (with guitarist Denis ‘Sasquatch’ Barthe as their only original member) and they put out a new album last year, Feels Like Punk, Sounds Like Thrash.

Wale @ Sony Hall
Seinfeld-loving rapper Wale turns Sony Hall into “Walemania” tonight.

The Blaze, Jacques Greene, Ouri @ Avant Gardner
French dance music duo The Blaze generated some steady buzz over the years, mostly thanks to their cinematic music videos, and that buzz only increased after they released their debut album Dancehall.

Lotus – Talking Heads Deconstructed with special guest Gabe Otto @ Brooklyn Bowl
Lotus are beginning a three-night run at Brooklyn Bowl, and they’re doing a Talking Heads set tonight.

The Losers Lounge: The Music of Queen @ Joe’s Pub
Joe McGinty and his ace band will pay tribute to Queen tonight with a whole host of guest singers. Two shows tonight and the late show is decidedly longer, which may be needed when a band has as many epics as Queen do.
