You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

The Range (DJ set), Jim-e Stack (DJ set) @ Good Room
James Hinton released his great second full-length as The Range, Potential, earlier this year (one of our favorites), toured with Phantogram and is gearing up for a tour with his Domino labelmate Austra. Here’s a chance to catch him in a more intimate space.

Dag Nasty, Kill Your Idols, Loud Boyz @ Gramercy Theatre
Punk vets Dag Nasty (with Shawn Brown on vocals) are keeping the reunion going strong, with new music and continued touring. Good openers tonight too.

Phish @ Madison Square Garden
Phish at The Garden is a jammy New Year’s Eve tradition. This is night two of their four-night run.

Pharmakon, Drew McDowall, Bookworms, Ciarra Black, Special Guest @ Saint Vitus
Pharmakon headlines this benefit and memorial for the victims of the tragic Ghost Ship fire in Oakland with proceeds supporting the Bay Area trans community.

Get Real (Green Velvet & Claude VonStroke), Matthew Dear, Walker & Royce @ Secret Location
“A party to end 2016 and forget yourself on the dance floor with a few thousand friends in a dark warehouse in Bushwick,” is how Get Real (aka Green Velvet & Claude VonStroke) describe this secret dance party.

Thursday, The Hotelier, Primitive Weapons @ Starland Ballroom
One of the more anticipated reunions of this year was Jersey post-hardcore heroes Thursday, and so far their reunion shows have proved to be just as exhilarating as their prime era. Tonight’s their first of two Starland Ballroom shows this week, and tonight’s openers are The Hotelier (who made one of our favorite albums of the year) and Primitive Weapons.

Gogol Bordello @ The Space at Westbury
It’s not New Year’s Eve without a delightfully drunk show from gypsy punks Gogol Bordello. They’ll do NYE proper in Montreal this year, but they’re in the NYC-area tonight.

H.R. (of Bad Brains), Dubb Agents, Skarroñeros, Kingsound @ The Bowery Electric
Fresh off being nominated for (but not inducted into) the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, HR of punk legends Bad Brains will play NYC tonight.

John Zorn @ The Stone
It’s the first of two annual end-of-year Improv Nights at The Stone which are benefits to help the venue stay afloat. John Zorn will perform with Mary Halvorson (guitar), Joe Morris (guitar), Mark Feldman (violin), Mark Helias (bass), Kenny Grohowski (drums), Sylvie Courvoisier (piano), Ikue Mori (electronics), Okkyung Lee (cello), Michael Nicolas (cello), and many special guests.

Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Kool G Rap, Marley Marl, Masta Ace, Roxanne Shante @ BB King Blues Club
The Juice Crew was a hip hop collective based out of Brooklyn’s Queensbridge projects in the mid-to-late ’80s. This reunion show brings back most of the Crew’s major players and should be a great night of classics.
