What's going on Thursday?

House of Vans - Dave Chappelle's Party
Dave Chappelle at House of Vans earlier this month (more by Jonathan Mehring)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Dave Chappelle, Ali Wong, John Mayer, Lil Jon (DJ set) @ Radio City Music Hall
Dave Chappelle’s awesome, guest-filled, 16-show Radio City residency finally comes to a close tonight. The announced guests are Ali Wong, John Mayer, and Lil Jon (who’s DJing). Will anyone else show up to help Chappelle close out his run?

Lucero, Jesse Malin @ Rocks Off Cruise
Country punks Lucero play The Bouncing Souls’ ‘Stoked for the Summer’ show in Asbury Park tomorrow, but first they set sail aboard a Rocks Off Cruise tonight. NYC punk staple Jesse Malin opens.

A$AP Mob release party @ Highline Ballroom
A$AP Mob’s new album Cozy Tapes Vol. 2: Too Cozy comes out tomorrow, and they celebrate tonight with this sold-out release party.

Heems, Drop Electric, Small Leaks Sink Ships, Slow Machete @ Brooklyn Bazaar
Former Das Racist and current Swet Shop Boys member Heems is one of the artists on a new benefit compilation for Unity Productions Foundation, and this show is also a benefit for UPF. Openers Drop Electric and Small Leaks Sink Ships are both also on the comp.

Sannhet, Miserable, Planning For Burial @ The Park Church Co-Op
Post-rockers Sannhet will release their new album So Numb on Profound Lore tomorrow. Sannhet’s sound is even more awe-inspiring in a live setting, and a church sounds like the perfect place to see them play. Both openers tonight are worth catching too.

Madame Gandhi @ MoMA
Madame Gandhi (real name Kiran Gandhi) spent years drumming for M.I.A. before striking out on her own and releasing her solo debut EP Voices last year. The EP showcases Kiran’s soulful singing and speak-rapping over forward-thinking music that mixes glitch, electronic dance music, indie pop, rock, and more.

Oxymorrons, Jachary, Rare Futures @ Rough Trade
Alt-rap group Oxymorrons returned last year with Complex But Basic. Tonight, the Queens group play a Brooklyn show.

RIPS, Eyes of Love, Andrew Cedermark @ Trans-Pecos
If you like late ’70s NYC mutant pop (Feelies, Television) RIPS debut album is a fun, tuneful continuation of that spirit.

Caveman @ Dr. Marten’s SoHo
NYC indie stalwarts Caveman play this free show at Dr. Martens’ SoHo store. 6PM free (free beverages too) but you do need to RSVP.

Witch Taint, Dave Hill, Greg Barris, Phil Costello @ Union Hall
In 2004 comedian, musician and gadabout Dave Hill created alter-ego Lance, a teenager living with his parents in Gary, IN who also happened to be the lead singer and sole member of “the most extreme, brutal, and Satanic black metal band of all-time,” There’s a lot more to this story, and you can hear it all — and see Witch Taint live — tonight.

The Nude Party, Boytoy, Stuyedeyed, Jonathan Toubin @ Baby’s All Right
North Carolina party-friendly garage rock band The Nude Party continue their three-week Thursday residency at Baby’s tonight.

Rave of Thrones: Kristian Nairn a.k.a. Hodor from Game of Thrones, Dali, Hiyawatha @ Output
Before he was Hodor on Game of Thrones, Kristian Nairn was a respected club DJ. He’s mixing both together tonight. Fake swords or glo-sticks? Probably both.

Dick Dale @ Wonder Bar
The Asbury Park Surf Music Festival kicks off tonight with the King of Surf Guitar himself.

Patrick Higgins, Brian Degraw, Tyondai Braxton (DJ Set), Qasim Naqvi, Erin Ellen Kelly @ Knockdown Center
This is part of the FWD>> MOTION series that “aims to bridge dance and music audiences and invites one to experience this work in a non-traditional space.”
