What’s going on Thursday? (no shows, closed venues, livestreams, more)
As of Tuesday (3/16), there are officially no shows in the NY/NJ/CT tristate area, due to a joint agreement between the three states to limit crowd capacities to 50, close gyms, casinos, and movie theaters, and restrict restaurants and bars to take-out only. Most major venues in the city had already closed as a precautionary measure, anyway. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio is also saying residents should prepare for a “shelter in place” order to be declared either today or tomorrow, which would only allow residents to leave their homes for food, medicine or exercise.
Some of of the NYC-area shows that were originally supposed to happen tonight included the tribute to Carly Simon at Carnegie Hall, Lower Dens at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and Yasiin Bey at Sony Hall and more.
Though there aren't any concerts to attend in person, you can livestream some from the comfort of your own home, including Ben Gibbard, Honey Harper, Waxahatchee/Kevin Morby, Indigo Girls, and more. More info in our daily livestreams post.
