What's going on Tuesday?

Lightning Bolt at Death by Audio
Lightning Bolt @ DBA (more by Ebru Yildiz)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Lightning Bolt, Irreversible Entanglements @ AMC Empire 25 Movie Theater
The “Interference AV” festival continues tonight at Times Square multiplex AMC Empire, tonight with arty noise rock duo Lightning Bolt. They’ll play backed by projections, as you might imagine at a movie theater, and there’s a zine fair as well. RSVP is still open.

Glasser, L’Amour Bleu @ Union Pool
It’s been a while since Glasser released a new album but things appear to be stirring in her world. Every Tuesday in February, she’ll be performing new music with hand-selected guests.

I’m With Her @ Rough Trade
I’m With Her, aka Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz, and Aoife O’Donovan, just released their debut album and tonight play this free in-store at Rough Trade. You don’t need to buy anything to attend and no RSVP is necessary. 6:30 PM doors, and they’re on at 7.

Portugal. The Man, Topaz Jones @ Brooklyn Steel
As you may have noticed, Portugal. The Man are more famous than ever. They had a true pop hit with “Feel It Still” last year (which won a Grammy this year), and they’re using their fame to take some pretty amazing small openers on tour with them. Tonight they play Brooklyn Steel with the talented rapper/funk singer Topaz Jones. They’ll be back in NYC for a bigger show at Forest Hills Stadium in September.

Harms Way, Ringworm, Vein, Queensway @ Saint Vitus
Hardcore crushers Harms Way recently left Deathwish for Metal Blade and released their killer new album Posthuman, which has them diving a little deeper into industrial and nu metal than before. They’re on tour now with direct support from metallic hardcore legends Ringworm, and additional support from Vein and Queensway, making for a strong bill all around.

Tyler Childers, Kelsey Walden @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Tyler Childers continues to rise in the world of country/indie crossover. Last year he released his debut album Purgatory, co-produced by Sturgill Simpson, and this week he plays NYC shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg (tonight) and Bowery Ballroom (tomorrow).

88rising tour ft. Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers @ Terminal 5
Indonesian rapper Rich Brian (formerly Rich Chigga) has come a long way since his 2016 debut single “Dat Stick.” He’s bigger than ever and he recently released his debut album Amen, which features his 88rising labelmate Joji, Migos’ Offset, and more. Brian, Joji, and others on the 88rising roster are on tour together now and hitting NYC’s big Terminal 5 tonight.

Purr, Colin Caulfield, Vera Sola @ Baby’s All Right
Jack and Eliza, formerly known as Jack & Eliza, now make music as Purr. The winsome, acoustic indie pop sound hasn’t changed much.  This is the final show of their three-week residency. It’s a free show.

Maeve Higgins, Phoebe Robinson, Todd Barry, Chris Gethard, Aparna Nancherla, Michelle Buteau @ The Bell House
This is a killer lineup of comedy and proceeds to INARA which helps Syrian children who are caught up in the war.

Eric Slick (Dr. Dog), Lina Tullgren, Landlady (solo) @ Threes Brewing
Dr Dog’s Eric Slick will premiere “Bullfighter” with Aster String Quartet, plus performances by Captured Tracks artist Lina Tullgren and Adam Schatz of Landlady (and many other projects).

David Cross @ Union Hall
The Mr Show and Arrested Development star has been testing out new material at a series of Union Hall shows he’s dubbed “Shootin’ the Shit, Seeing What Sticks.”
