Stagecoach 2017 - Friday
The Zombies @ Stagecoach 2017 (more by Everett Fitzpatrick)

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Jawbreaker, special guest, Clare O’Kane @ Brooklyn Steel
Some thought it would never happen, but Jawbreaker finally returned for the first time in 22 years and headlined Riot Fest 2017 with a killer set that genuinely made them look like the rock stars that new documentary Don’t Break Down suggested they always could have been. Now they’re keeping the reunion going with club shows, and playing their first NYC shows since the ’90s this week. This is the second of three. Sold out.

The Zombies @ City Winery
Baroque pop as we know it might not exist without the influence of The Zombies’ Odessey & Oracle, which they played on tour last year for its 50th anniversary. Now they’re back on the road playing songs from other albums too, and also some smaller venues. They’re in NYC for three City Winery shows this week, this being the first.

Purr, Colin Caulfield @ Baby’s All Right
Brooklyn duo Purr (fka Jack & Eliza) have extended their February residency at Baby’s to a fourth show. Their name may have changed but the winsome, indiepop style is pretty much the same as Jack & Eliza. This show is free.

Jon Batiste and Stay Human @ Bowery Ballroom
Best known these days as the bandleader on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jon Batiste is an eclectic, talented jazz musician and composer, and a renowned showman. Tonight he plays solo in the round.

Shana Falana, Operator Music Band, Lip Talk, Toyzanne @ H0L0
It’s a night of postpunk and adventurous krautrock with this show featuring the gothy Shana Falana and Stereolab-esque Operator Music Band.

Jonathan Richman, Ane Diaz @ The Bell House
The great Jonathan Richman has so many classic songs (well beyond the perfect Modern Lovers record) and is such a charming performer, he is always worth catching. This is his first of two shows tonight.

David Cross @ Union Hall
The Mr Show and Arrested Development star has been testing out new material at a series of Union Hall shows he’s dubbed “Shootin’ the Shit, Seeing What Sticks.”

Glasser, L’Amour Bleu @ Union Pool
It’s been a while since Glasser released a new album but things appear to be stirring in her world. Every Tuesday in February, she’s been performing new music with hand-selected guests. Tonight’s the final night.

Bridget Everett & The Tender Moments @ Joe’s Pub
Amazon passed on Bridget Everett’s pilot but there is no doubt she’s a total riot, and performs tonight with her band The Tender Moments (which often includes Adam “Ad Rock” Horovitz).
