Atmosphere, Dem Atlas, The Lioness, DJ Keezy @ Brooklyn Steel
Indie-rap lifers Atmosphere returned this year with Mi Vida Loca, and they’re now in the midst of extensive touring to support it.

Stella Donnelly, Human People, Fits @ Elsewhere
Australian indie rocker Stella Donnelly signed to Secretly Canadian earlier this year (and they re-released her Thrush Metal EP with a bonus track) and she’s been on the rise and touring like crazy ever since.

G Herbo, Queen Key, Southside @ Irving Plaza
Chicago rapper G Herbo and producer Southside recently teamed for the very solid collaborative album Swervo, and now they’re supporting it on tour together. Opening is another Chicago rapper, Queen Key, who’s supporting her own solid new album, Eat My Pussy.

Oddisee, Evidence @ Le Poisson Rouge
The constantly busy and genre-defying DC rapper/producer Oddisee and LA vet (and Dilated Peoples member) Evidence are currently out on the “Odd Weather Tour,” hitting NYC tonight.

Empress Of (live + signing) @ Rough Trade
Empress Of is fresh off releasing her solid sophomore album Us, and tonight she celebrates with a signing and performance at Rough Trade, ahead of her extensive 2019 tour.

Jesse Malin, Beechwood, Hennessey @ Coney Island Baby
Jesse Malin continues his residency at Coney Island Baby, the new-ish NYC venue (in the old HiFi/Brownies space) that he helped open earlier this year.

Ghostmane, Vein, Wavy Jones @ Elsewhere
Ghostmane sorta updates nu metal for the SoundCloud Rap generation and Vein sorta update nu metal for the current hardcore scene, so it should be pretty interesting to see them both on the same bill.

Phil Cook, Andy Jenkins @ Bowery Ballroom
Megafaun’s Phil Cook returned this year with the new solo album People Are My Drug and did some touring this past spring. Now he’s out for another round of dates.

Freeway @ Knitting Factory
Philly rap vet and Roc-A-Fella associate Freeway returned this year with his new album Think Free (which features fellow vets like Jadakiss, Faith Evans, and Fat Joe and newer rappers like Lil Uzi Vert) and tonight he plays this Brooklyn show for the Heineken Green Room series.

Girlpool, True Blue, Alice Cohen @ Baby’s All Right
It seems like only yesterday that Baby’s All Right opened it doors for the first time — for a BrooklynVegan CMJ day party — and here they are celebrating their fifth birthday. Congrats, Baby’s!

A couple weeks back Will Oldham released a book of his lyrics from throughout the years and his many different guises and talks about it it tonight with New Yorker critic Amanda Petrusich.

Everyday Decisions with Jo Firestone @ Union Hall
Jo Firestone has a million ideas for shows and quiz shows and here’s her latest: “Everyday Decisions” where she interviews comedians, artists, musicians and kids about how they make everyday decisions. Tonight she’ll talk to Will Butler (of Arcade Fire), Ziwe Fumudoh, Clark Jones, and “Surprise Guests.”
