You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Elton John @ Madison Square Garden
It’s a very long goodbye, but Elton John’s spectacular farewell tour returns to NYC tonight for the first of four more shows this week.

Ryley Walker, Dida Pelled, Special Guests @ Union Pool
Ryley walker kicks off his March residency at Union Pool where each week he’s collaborating with different special guests.

Sean Bonnette (of AJJ), Shellshag @ The Safari Room at El Cortez
AJJ’s Sean Bonnette is currently on a solo tour with long-running DIY duo Shellshag, and this Brooklyn date is his first of two NYC-area shows this week.

Lucki @ Baby’s All Right
Chicago rapper Lucki is fresh off releasing his Freewave 3 mixtape (which, among other things, features production from Earl Sweatshirt), and he’s making his way to NYC to celebrate it here tonight.

Pink Mexico, Shilpa Ray, Darkwing, Lost Boy? @ ALPHAVILLE
Shoegazy punks Pink Mexico celebrate their new Burger Records album Dump tonight, with great support from Shilpa Ray.

A Bowie Celebration @ Irving Plaza
Musicians who have played and collaborated with David Bowie over the years pay tribute tonight, including ’70s-era band members Mike Garson and Earl Slick, ’80s-era bassist Carmine Rojas, and ’00s-era guitarist Gerry Leonard. (Some of them have played similar tribute shows in the past couple years.) The shows will also feature guest vocalists Corey Glover (of Living Colour) and Bernard Fowler (of Tackhead, backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones since the ’80s, etc), and drummer Lee John.

Mike Krol, Savak @ Rough Trade
Mike Krol’s new album Power Chords delivers on its title with tight, punky power pop. He’s nicely paired with Brooklyn post-punks SAVAK.

Marshall Crenshaw and The Bottle Rockets @ City Winery
Singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw scored a couple early-’80s power pop hits with “Whenever You’re on My Mind” and “Someday Someway,” and plays tonight with alt-country vets The Bottle Rockets.

Punderdome w/ Jo Firestone @ Littlefield
Jo Firestone created and hosts this very silly and very funny live game show where you too can play.
