Rosalía, Serpentwithfeet @ Webster Hall
Genre-defying flamenco/pop/R&B singer Rosalía deservedly had a big breakthrough last year with the great El Mal Querer, and she’s only continue to risen this year with the release of her James Blake and J Balvin collabs, and now she’s playing her first NYC shows since the album’s release. This is night two of two, and orchestral R&B singer serpentwithfeet makes for cool, strong support.

The Mountain Goats, Shana Cleveland @ Brooklyn Steel
With new album In League with Dragons freshly out, John Darnielle brings The Mountain Goats to Brooklyn. If you’re going tonight, do get there in time to see La Luz’s Shana Cleveland who just released a wonderful psych-folk solo album.

World/Inferno Friendship Society, Funkrust Brass Band, You Bred Raptors?, Brook Pridemore @ Mercury Lounge

Bruce Hornsby @ National Sawdust
’80s Lite FM balladeer (and onetime Grateful Dead member) Bruce Hornsby has been in the process of reinventing himself as an indie rock-approved artist, partially thanks to Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon who’s collaborated with him a few times over the past few years and contributed to his new album Absolute Zero (alongside Vernon associates Brad Cook, S. Carey, Rob Moose, The Staves and yMusic). Hornsby brings his new songs to Williamsburg venue National Sawdust tonight (night two of two).

Snow Patrol, We Are Scientists, Ryan McMullan @ Terminal 5
It’s a double header of long-running, poppy indie rock bands with Snow Patrol and We Are Scientists at Terminal 5 tonight.

SASAMI, Sen Morimoto @ Elsewhere
Former Cherry Glazerr keyboardist/backup vocalist Sasami Ashworth has taken off with her solo career, and last month she released her debut album on Domino (featuring guest spots from Beach Fossils singer Dustin Payseur, Devendra Banhart, and Soko). She’s been on tour since the album’s release and hits NYC tonight.
