What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Yann Tiersen @ Beacon Theatre
Best known for his work on soundtracks, like 2001’s Amélie, French musician and composer Yann Tiersen released the swooning All earlier this year, which mixed moody piano, ethereal vocals and field recordings.

Light Asylum, Korine, Zah @ Elsewhere
As Light Asylum, Shannon Funchess makes gothy electro that would’ve sounded at home in a chicago club in 1989. She went into hibernation for a few years but has been playing more and more shows.

Haruomi Hosono (of Yellow Magic Orchestra) @ Gramercy Theatre
Best known in the U.S. as one-third of influential Japanese synthpop icons Yellow Magic Orchestra, Haruomi Hosono also made records with a few other notable groups first (Apryl Fool, Tin Pan Alley and Happy End), not to mention many solo records before, during, and after his work with YMO. He’s celebrating the 50th anniversary of his major label debut and having just released a reworked version of his solo debut, Haruomi is playing special NYC and L.A. shows.

Jon Glaser, Scott Adsit @ Littlefield
The great Jon Glaser, of Delocated, Parks & Rec and other shows, “tries out some classic bitz to see if they might work for a live special! Maybe they will! Maybe they won’t! Come find out! With special guest Scott Adsit!
