100 gecs

What's going on Tuesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

100 gecs, Lil West, Umru, Alice Longyu Gao @ Elsewhere
Experimental pop duo 100 gecs have a weird, chaotic, in-your-face sound that has unsurprisingly got a lot of people talking about them. They’re on tour now opening for Brockhampton, having just played two NYC shows, and tonight they headline their own show here.

Military Genius, P.E., A. Savage (of Parquet Courts) @ ALPHAVILLE
Brooklyn band Pill broke up earlier this year but members Veronica Torres, Jonathan Campolo, and Benjamin Jaffe almost immediately teamed up with duo Eaters (Jonathan Schenke and Bob Jones) for new group P.E.. It’s a veritable sonic Reese’s Cup, mixing Pill’s attitude-heavy, skronky, saxy sound with Eaters’ electronic wizardry. The night also includes a set from Parquet Courts’ A. Savage.

Bob Dylan @ Beacon Theatre
The great Bob Dylan continues his intimate ten-night run at Beacon Theatre with his band which, if previous nights’ setlists (which have been pretty much the same) are any indication, includes lots of favorites.

Holly Miranda @ City Vineyard
Holly Miranda plays City Vineyard’s intimate Voices on the Hudson series (only 100 seats) which will be a great place to see her and hear her amazing voice.

Judy Collins, Chatham County Line, Jonas Fjeld @ Joe’s Pub
Folk icon Judy Collins released her latest LP Winter Stories last week, which she created with collaborators Jonas Fjeld and Chatham County Line. The three wrap up an eight-show residency at Joe’s Pub tonight performing songs off the new album, which includes originals and covers of Joni Mitchell, Jimmy Webb, and more.

You can also find quality entertainment on almost any night of the week at: Barbès bar and performance space in Park Slope, LunÀtico in Bed Stuy, Nublu in the East Village, Blue Note jazz club in the West Village, The Stone in multiple locations, Comedy Cellar in the West Village, and Q.E.D. comedy club in Astoria.
