What's going on Tuesday?

Fat White Family

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Fat White Family @ Saint Vitus
Having just played Meltasia in the Catskills, troublemakers Fat White Family added this midnight show before they head back to the UK to work on their third LP.

Marduk, Rotting Christ, Carach Angren, Necronomicon @ Gramercy Theatre
Swedish black/death outfit Marduk are touring behind their 2015 album Frontschwein, while Rotting Christ put out a new album called Rituals in February. This should be a stacked night of death metal.

‘Schmilco’ listening party @ Rough Trade
You can listen to Wilco’s new album, and maybe win a giant Schmilco foam finger or turntable slipmat. You can also buy the vinyl today (and maybe get a wristband to Wilco’s show at Rough Trade on 9/22). 7 PM.

Midnight Magic, TEEN, Boulevards @ (le) poisson rouge
Midnight Magic make booty-shaking disco like it’s 1978, all live instruments and precision groove musicianship. Opening are artpop group TEEN whose new album Love Yes is one of 2016’s more underrated albums.

Kanye West @ Madison Square Garden
Kanye West is quite possibly in his least predictable year ever. He’s already released several versions of The Life of Pablo, and it doesn’t seem unlikely that more updates are on the way. He also says he has other albums coming this year, and it pretty much seems like a 50/50 chance of whether or not we’ll actually get to hear those. He’s on tour now, and will surely do something crazy at each show.

Gap Dream @ Mercury Lounge
This show has been canceled.

HighasaKite, Phebe Starr @ Rough Trade
Oslo, Norway’s HighasaKite make quirky, danceable, anthemic pop as can be heard on their new album Camp Echo.

Retox, He Whose Ox Is Gored, Silent, Netherlands @ Saint Vitus Bar
This is a crazy bill all around of heavy music, with hardcore boundary-pushers Retox (another band of Justin Pearson of The Locust), Seattle sludge crew He Whose Ox is Gored, Silent (who are on Pearson’s Three One G label), and local experimenters Netherlands.

Gary Clark Jr., Sisterhood @ The Capitol Theatre
Gary Clark Jr brings back classic-style blues rock and does it well. Tonight he’s just outside of NYC.

Gun Outfit, JJ Doll @ Union Pool
Psych band Gun Outfit returned earlier this year with a solid new album, Winner’s Circle. Tonight the Olympia band returns to NYC.

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

Sweet w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
