You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

King Khan & BBQ Show, The Gartrells, Stompin’ Riff Raffs @ Bowery Ballroom
Garage-soul royalty King Khan & BBQ Show bring the grit, the sweat and the grooves to Bowery Ballroom tonight. They always bring the party.

Mitski, Nick Hakim, Mal Devisa @ Villain
Mitski returned earlier this year with her Dead Oceans debut, Puberty 2, which has deservedly gained her a ton of new fans. If you’re going tonight, it’s worth showing up early for Mal Devisa.

Kemba, Homeboy Sandman, Peter Rosenberg @ Rough Trade
Local rappers Kemba and Homeboy Sandman both put out solid albums this year, Negus and Kindness for Weakness, respectively. Tonight they team up for a hometown show together.

Gingerlys, Frigs, Ritual Humor, Winkie, Whimm @ Silent Barn
Toronto’s Frigs were one of the standout new acts to play this past weekend’s M for Montreal festival with their dark, almost soulful take on post punk. Bria Salmela is a firebrand frontperson possessing a commanding voice that can go from smoky cool to full-on wail. Frigs play with fellow Torontonians (and tourmates) WHIMM.

Daniel Bachman @ Trans-Pecos
Daniel Bachman is one of a few modern guitar heroes helping to bring back the American Primitivism style, a style usually credited to ’50s/’60s folk musician John Fahey. He just released a self-titled album earlier this month.

Dae Dae, Shy Glizzy, PnB Rock @ Knitting Factory
The ongoing “Birth of a New Nation” tour is presented by 300 Entertainment (which Dae Dae and Shy Glizzy are both signed to, like Young Thug, Fetty Wap, and more), and it hits NYC tonight. Dae Dae recently dropped a mixtape with frequent Young Thug producer London on da Track, Shy Glizzy put out the Young Jefe 2 mixtape this year, and PnB Rock released a collaborative mixtape with Fetty Wap this year.

The Sounds, Zipper Club, My Jerusalem @ Warsaw
Sweden’s glammy riff rockers The Sounds celebrate the 10th anniversary of their 2006 album Dying to Say This to You by playing it in full tonight. Will Misshapes’ Leigh Lezark (who is on the LP’s cover) be in attendance?

Cake Shop Comedy @ Cake Shop
If you miss Big Terrific and Hannibal Buress’ Sunday night show at Knit, and are looking for a new free, weekly comedy show that happens in a rock club and sometimes has big name talent stop by unexpectedly, “Cake Shop Comedy” might do the trick.

SWEET w/ Seth Herzog @ The Slipper Room
Seth Herzog hosts this long-running comedy night that always features great guests.
