You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

mewithoutYou, Joan of Arc, Hurry @ Elsewhere
mewithoutYou’s new album [Untitled] is a massive leap forward for this veteran band and their best in years — which is not to say that their other recent albums weren’t great as well. They begin their tour tonight with fellow long-running, shapeshifting indie rock band Joan of Arc. Newcomers Hurry are on the bill as well.

Gaz Coombes, Caleb Elliott @ Baby’s All Right
Onetime Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes released World’s Strongest Man back in May and plays this solo show tonight.

Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience Madison Square Garden
While the final season of Game of Thrones won’t be back till the spring, you can see show composer Ramin Djawadi lead an orchestra while clips from the show play.

Shame, Flasher, Wives @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
UK post-punk lovers Shame bring their sweaty live show to Brooklyn for their first of two MHOW shows. Flasher (featuring former Priests member Taylor Mulitz) and Wives; Friday’s show is with Bodega and Public Practice.

Iskwé, Veda Rays, Gustaf, Taylor March, Tallies, Goodbye Honolulu @ Pianos
Of note on this MONDO.NYC fest show are Toronto’s Tallies who make jangly, Smiths-y pop; and local shoegazers Veda Rays.

Christina Aguilera, Big Boi @ Radio City Music Hall
Christina Aguilera is in the midst of a comeback and going for a more hip hop vibe than usual. Her recently released, first album in six years had a handful of guest rappers and rap producers, and now she’s on her first major North American tour in a decade with support from Southern rap legend Big Boi. They play Radio City tonight and tomorrow.

Social Distortion, Pony Bradshaw, Will Hoge @ The Capitol Theatre
Having just played Asbury Park festival Sea.Hear.Now with special guest Bruce Springsteen, country punk vets Social Distortion are doing another NYC-area gig tonight.

GABI, Julianna Barwick, Foxes in Fiction @ The Park Church Co-Op
This is the release party for GABI’s new album and it’s all around a fantastic triple bill for ambient pop.

Brian Fallon, Craig Finn @ The Space at Westbury
While The Gaslight Anthem and The Hold Steady have both been busy this year, both bands frontmen are now teaming for a solo tour together. They play Long Island tonight, followed by two Brooklyn shows next week.

Yvette, Sediment Club, The Dreebs, James K @ Elsewhere Zone One
Bring earplugs to this sure to be loud show featuring four excellent noisemakers.

Ask Me Another w/ Nick Kroll @ The Bell House
Nick Kroll joins host Ophira Eisenberg and bandleader Jonathan Coulton for this live taping of popular NPR quiz show podcast ‘Ask Me Another’ where he’ll answer trivia while subtly working in plugs for the second season of Big Mouth on Netflix (out 10/5!).

Man’s Body, Hamish Kilgour, Knolls @ The Glove
One third of The Clean and leader of The Mad Scene, Hamish Kilgour has indie rock bona fides out the wazoo but didn’t make a solo record until 2014’s All of it and Nothing. He’s only recently followed that up with solo LP #2, titled Finklestein, which which came out this summer via Ba Da Bing

Springsteen on Broadway
The Boss continues his sold-out “Springsteen on Broadway” run at the Walter Kerr Theatre, which runs through December. At these shows, Bruce is giving fans shows “that are as personal and as intimate as possible.”
