Deerhunter at Le Poisson Rouge
Deerhunter at LPR in 2018 (more by P Squared)

What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Offset @ Irving Plaza
Billed as ‘Offset Presents – Father of 4 Live,’ Offset of Migos celebrates the release of his solo debut Father of 4 at this last-minute, very intimate show. It starts at midnight, and it’s already sold out.

Deerhunter, Mary Lattimore, L’Rain @ Brooklyn Steel
Deerhunter have settled into a warm, comfortable version of their psychedelic sound these days, which is not a slight as new album Why Hasn’t Everything Already Disappeared? is terrific, just lest wiggy than they used to be. They still remain a compelling live band and with harpist Mary Lattimore opening, tonight’s show should be great.

Martin Rev, Eugene Hutz, Kid Congo, Lydia Lunch, Luke Jenner (The Rapture), Jesse Malin, and more special guests @ The Bowery Electric
Monthly party Sally Can’t Dance pays tribute to the late Suicide co-founder Alan Vega tonight with this all-star tribute featuring his bandmate Martin Rev, plus Genesis P-Orridge, Gogol Bordello’s Euguene Hutz, Kid Congo Powers, Lydia Lunch, The Rapture’s Luke Jenner, Jesse Malin, The Fleshtones Peter Zaremba & Keith Streng, The Gories’ Mick Collins, and lots more.

Le Butcherettes, Stars at Night, Saint Marilyn @ Elsewhere
Mexican garage punks Le Butcherettes recently released their new album bi/MENTAL, and as good as their records are, their wild live show is even better.

Peel Dream Magazine, Twin Drugs, Blood Blush @ H0L0
Looking forward to Stereolab’s upcoming reunion tour but need a fix of krauty bachelor pad music now? Peel Dream Magazine, whose debut LP came out last year on Slumberland, traffic in a similar pretty sturm und drang.

The Wailers, The Far East @ Brooklyn Bowl
Led by bassist and founder Aston “Familyman” Barrett, and joined by original Wailers guitarist Donald Kinsey as well as saxophonist Glen DaCosta, The Wailers pay tribute to late Bob Marley.

Aparna Nancherla @ The Bell House
With recurring roles on Bojack Horseman, Corporate and Crashing, comedian Aparna Nancherla continues to be on the rise. Tonight’s one of her biggest NYC headlining shows to date.

“60 to 90 Minutes of Comedy with Chris Gethard & a Friend” @ Union Hall (2 shows)
The title of this show pretty much says it all, apart from who Chris’s friend might be. These two shows are unsurprisingly sold out.

Gaby Moreno @ The Appel Room (Lincoln Center)
The American Songbook series continues tonight with Guatemalan singer-songwriter Gaby Moreno (who released a collaborative single with Van Dyke Parks last year).
