Hot Chip, Holy Fuck @ Brooklyn Steel
Hot Chip’s latest LP A Bath Full of Ecstasy shows the group still at the top of their game, and they’re on night two of their three-night run at Brooklyn Steel tonight. Excellent support comes from experimental dance unit Holy Fuck all three nights.

Philip Glass and The Spiritual Voice of the Wixarika Music @ Le Poisson Rouge
Experimental composer Philip Glass is at LPR tonight and tomorrow presenting The Spirit of the Earth, which is a tribute to the indigenous cultures of Mexico.

Hatchie, Orchin @ Rough Trade
Hatchie is touring behind the glossy dream pop of her debut album Keepsake this year. Having recently opened for Japanese Breakfast in NYC, she returns for a headlining show tonight.

Meet Me In The Bathroom: The Art Show (opening reception) @ The Hole
This art show is inspired by Lizzy Goodman’s oral history of the early-’00s NYC rock scene, Meet Me in the Bathroom, and features pieces from Karen O, Nick Zinner and Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Paul Banks (Interpol), Fabrizio Moretti and Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes, Dave Sitek and Tunde Adebimpe of TVOTR, Brian Degraw and Lizzi Bougatsos of Gang Gang Dance and lots more Tonight’s the opening party and the art show will be up through September 22.

Maria Usbeck, Jackie Mendoza @ The Sultan Room
Maria Usbeck just released her second solo album, Envejeciendo, which is a lush rainforest of digital vegetation, both danceable and soothing. She celebrates with this show tonight.

Joe Jack Talcum (of Dead Milkmen), Coolzey, Entertain Your Membrane @ Saint Vitus
Joe Jack Talcum, frontman of satirical punk vets The Dead Milkmen, has been focusing on his solo career lately. He recently released a split cassette tape with Gravey Train, and he plays NYC tonight.

David Cross @ Union Hall
David Cross tested out the stand-up material that became the 2018 Oh Come On tour at a bunch of shows he called “Shootin’ the Shit, Seein’ What Sticks” that mostly happened at Brooklyn’s Union Hall. He’s about to shoot the shit again, starting tonight.

Mdou Moctar, Boogarins @ Industry City
It’s a night of guitar psychedelia from around the world with Tuareg musician Mdou Moctar and Brazilian band Boogarins.

Bridget Everett & The Tender Moments @ Joe’s Pub
Backed by her band The Tender Moments, Bridget Everett provides an extremely unexpurgated night of comedy and music that may not be for the easily embarrassed.

Kristeen Young, London Plane @ Berlin
You may know Kristeen Young from her years as Morrissey’s regular tour-opener. She plays a release show tonight for her new album, The Subset.

Sarah Bernstein, Kid Millions @ Union Pool
Violinist Sarah Bernstein and drummer Kid Millions celebrate the release of their new album Broken Fall.

Lina Tullgren, Starla Online, Wendy Eisenberg @ The Windjammer
Lian Tullgren just released new album Free Cell came out a week ago on Captured Tracks and plays this hometown show tonight before heading out on tour with Frankie Cosmos.
