What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Grizzly Bear @ Public Arts
Grizzly Bear’s first album in five years, Painted Ruins, came out last week, and it reinforces that there’s really no other band who sounds like them. They celebrate it with this intimate, sold-out release show tonight, and they have three bigger NYC shows in November.

Dave Chappelle, Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), Talib Kweli @ Radio City
Dave Chappelle is on the second to last night of his guest-filled 16-show Radio City residency. This one’s got Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) and Talib Kweli… maybe we’ll hear some Black Star songs?

Bonobo @ Brooklyn Steel
Electronic musician Bonobo continues to tour in support of this year’s Migration (and its accompanying EP). He played two Terminal 5 shows earlier this year, and he’s back in NYC tonight for one at Brooklyn Steel.

Azealia Banks, Connie Diiamond @ Highline Ballroom
“212” hitmaker and controversial rapper Azealia Banks graces her hometown with a Highline Ballroom show tonight.

All Get Out, Ratboys, Wild Pink @ Knitting Factory
This is a good show all around with Manchester Orchestra collaborators All Get Out, Topshelf-signed alt-country-ish band Ratboys, and Tiny Engines-signed indie rockers Wild Pink.

Aesop Rock w/ Rob Sonic and DJ Zone, Grimace Federation @ Music Hall of Williamsburg
Underground rapper Aesop Rock has scored his first film, an action-drama titled Bushwick, which is due out in theaters and on-demand this Friday. He celebrates it with a release show in Williamsburg tonight.

Zeal & Ardor, Pyrolatrous @ Saint Vitus
Zeal & Ardor is the unique project of Swiss-American musician Manuel Gagneaux, who combines black metal and blues. Previously a solo project, Zeal & Ardor now plays with a full band.

Ice Balloons, Foster Care, Brandy @ Secret Project Robot
TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone also makes music as Ice Balloons, a weirder, crazier band who just released new album Fiesta. Ice Balloons’ live show is also kind of crazy, as you can witness tonight — punks Foster Care are worth catching too.

Ilana Glazer and friends @ Littlefield (two shows)
The new season of Broad City starts in September and Ilana Glazer has been getting the word out lately, hosting a bunch of her “…And Friends” shows. There are two of them tonight which are both, unsurprisingly, sold out.

Pitchfork’s Best Albums of the 60s Party @ Baby’s All Right
Pitchfork just posted their list of 200 Best Albums of the ’60s (we won’t spoil what’s #1 but it’s not Pat Boone) and tonight celebrate with this party DJ’d by their writers. The front room is dedicated to “folk, jazz, and mellower moods,” while the main performances space serves “as the primary dancefloor, reveling in classic pop, soul, and rock’n’roll.” Can they cram in all 200 records? (No.) It’s free, with an $8 suggested donation at the door and all proceeds go to the Southern Poverty Law Center.
