What's going on Wednesday?

You can browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight’s shows, but here are some highlights…

Quilt, Lionlimb, Cut Worms @ Baby’s All Right
Boston’s Quilt get better with each record, and the craft and musicianship on display on their new album Plaza is impressive. Few young bands are making ’60s-influenced psych pop this good. They’re just as good live, and tonight is the release party for Plaza.

Slayer, Testament, Carcass @ Capitol Theatre
This whole bill is stacked with legendary metal, with two greats of thrash’s prime era — Slayer and Testament — and death metal OGs Carcass.

Lee Ranaldo, Dither @ Merkin Concert Hall (Ecstatic Music Festival)
The Ecstatic Music Festival pairs together unique collaborations between pop-minded artists and those in the avant-garde/modern classical world. Tonight it’s Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo and electric guitar quartet Dither. Selections tonight will include “Hurricane Transcriptions,” music derived from wind recordings made by Ranaldo in NYC during Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and a special performance of “Six for New Time” (from Sonic Youth’s Goodbye 20th Century LP) that will also feature Yeah Yeah Yeahs drummer Brian Chase.

Talib Kweli @ Blue Note
Talib Kweli has been a staple of New York rap since the ’90s and he still puts out quality records. Tonight he continues his residency at the Blue Note with a live band. 8 and 10:30 PM shows.

Holy Ghost! @ MoMA (Armory Party)
It’s the annual gala benefit party kicking off The Armory Show and Armory Arts Week. This year Holy Ghost! will liven things up. Tickets aren’t cheap, but they are tax deductible.

Jerry Seinfeld @ Beacon Theatre
What’s the deal with these shows? Jerry Seinfeld continues his monthly residency at Beacon Theater tonight, that’s what. Last time, he coaxed Steve Martin out of standup retirement. Who might open tonight?

Mike Birbiglia @ The Lynn Redgrave Theater
Comedian Mike Birbiglia has been doing his show “Thank God for the Jokes” for nearly two years. He’s putting it to bed, but not before this run which just got extended through May.

An Evening with Molly Ringwald @ Birdland
John Hughes’ Pretty in Pink just celebrated its 30th anniversary and tonight its star Molly Ringwald sings cabaret. She has been known to cover “(Don’t You) Forget About Me” from The Breakfast Club. 8:30 PM and 11 PM shows.

Nothing Changes feat. DUST, Young Male, Alex From Queens @ Home Sweet Home
Tonight’s the three-year anniversary of goth/industrial/darkwave party Nothing Changes, featuring the heavy machinery of DUST.
