White Lung

White Lung have announced a new album, the followup to 2014’s Deep Fantasy (which was my favorite album of that year). It’s called Paradise and it’s due out May 6 via Domino (pre-order). Lars Stalfors (Chelsea Wolfe, HEALTH) produced it. The album’s first single is “Hungry,” which may very well be the least punk song they’ve written. It’s still driving but it’s more mid-tempo and less distorted than they usually are, and it’s got one of their most purely pop choruses yet. Kenneth William’s always-thrilling guitar parts have a bit of a shoegaze tinge this time around, and Mish Way shouts a little less but has as much charisma as ever. Check out the video below — MIsh wrote it with director Justin Gradin, and it stars members of the band, Deafheaven singer George Clarke, and actress Amber Tamblyn. Album artwork and tracklist below too.

White Lung also announced a tour, which includes SXSW and a NYC show on May 7 at Baby’s All Right. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (2/26) at noon. All dates are listed below.
