who are the secret headliners at this NYC show with RIPS?

Parquet Courts‘ new Danger Mouse-produced album, Wide Awake!, is out next Friday and the band will soon after be heading out on an extensive tour. Missing in those dates, oddly, is a hometown show in NYC. We thought maybe they’d announce a Northside show (maybe they still will?) but perhaps they are the “secret headliner” at this show at Public Arts on May 18. The show is part of the Skullcandy: Now Feel This series which “is a 2018 live stream concert series giving you a front row seat to over 25 performances from artists you need to know about.” It’s the day the album comes out, and opening are Rips, whose 2017 album was produced by Parquet Courts’ Austin Brown. It’s just a guess but it seems plausible. Whoever is actually headlining, it’s a free show but you do need to claim tickets and “Entry is subject to capacity and not guaranteed.”

UPDATE: Well, Gary Canino of RIPS says it’s not Parquet Courts:
