Wiki Mountains Manhattan

Wiki announces debut album for XL, shares full-set video from 5 boroughs tour

New York rapper and former Ratking member Wiki recently released a great single on XL, “Pretty Bull,” and he has now announced his debut album for the label. It’s called No Mountains in Manhattan and a press release says “the album is New York to the core – featuring local emcees, from legend to novice” (tracklist and guests still TBA). That’s the album artwork above. Going by “Pretty Bull,” this album is worth keeping an eye on.

Last week, Wiki went on a five-borough tour, playing Gottscheer Hall in Queens, Uptown Vinyl Supreme in the Bronx, 50/50 Skate Park in Staten Island, Clinton Hill Brownstone in Brooklyn, and finally Nuyorican Poets Cafe in Manhattan, which was this past Sunday (7/16). Boiler Room filmed a full-set, pro-shot video of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe show, which you can watch below.

Wiki also recently played a collaborative set with Your Old Droog and Edan at the latest BrooklynVegan-curated Red Bull Sound Select show. Pictures and review here. He plays Warm Up at MoMA PS1 on August 26 with DJDS, Actress, Show Me the Body, RP Boo, Yves Tumor, and Umfang (tickets).
