Will Sheff, Lee Ranaldo, Cassandra Jenkins, Josh Ritter & more playing Leonard Cohen tribute in Brooklyn

One of the biggest musical losses in a year full of them was Leonard Cohen. A bunch of great artists will be celebrating his life and music at Music Hall of Williamsburg on January 24 for a tribute called “Sincerely, L. Cohen: A Celebration of Leonard Cohen.” It features Lee Renaldo (Sonic Youth), Will Sheff (Okkervil River), Josh Ritter, Amy Helm, Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith Group), Teddy Thompson, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Ian O’Neill (Deer Tick), Dave Harrington, Hannah Cohen, Osei Essed (The Woes), Cassandra Jenkins, with a house band of Josh Kaufman, Walt Martin, Annie Nero, and Ray Rizzo (most of whom, along with Ritter, played on Bob Weir’s new album).

Tickets go on sale Wednesday, December 21 at noon and proceeds benefit the Preemptive Love Coalition.
