Williamsburg bar Mugs Alehouse closing this month after over 25 years

We lost Rosemary’s, Enid’s and The Abbey earlier this year and now comes word that another long-standing Williamsburg/Greenpoint bar is closing. Mugs Alehouse, which has been on the corner of Bedford and N. 10th for nearly 27 years, will pour its last beer on June 22. It was always a place that catered to everyone, from old-school Williamsburg / Greenpoint residents and newer folks to the neighborhood, with reliable food, a good jukebox and a really great selection of craft beer on tap. Mugs, you’ll be missed.

There aren’t many places left near the Bedford L stop that have been around as long: Turkey’s Nest, Teddy’s and Vera Cruz are about it.
