This isn't a diss at the quality of Windhand's work, but I don't think you're gonna be flipping through FM channels and stumble across their new single. That hasn't stopped them from releasing the "radio edit" of "Two Urns," the first track we get to hear off this year's highly anticipated Grief's Infernal Flower (due 9/18 via Relapse). The album was produced by Jack Endino, who helmed songs for Nirvana and Soundgarden that did in fact end up on the radio, and it's not impossible to imagine "Two Urns" showing up on a KROQ playlist between those two bands, if it came out two decades ago. (The edit, by the way, is still over six minutes.) Granted, their psych-doom is more Electric Wizard than Soundgarden, but this is the kind of song that could win over any fan of melodic, heavy rock. Check it out below.

The band is also touring with likeminded riffers Danava and Monolord, hitting NYC on October 21 at Gramercy Theatre. Tickets for that show are still available.
