Wire, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, are bringing their DRILL festival back to the U.S. in 2017, this year in Los Angeles at Echo/Echoplex on March 30 - April 1. (It was in Seattle in 2013 and Chicago in 2015) DRILL: LA will features performances from Bob Mould, Julia Holter, Laetitia Sadier, Mild High Club, Noveller and more. Special, only-at-DRILL events include a performance by FITTED -- featuring Wire's Graham Lewis & Matthew Sims as well as Mike Watt and Bob Lee -- and then there is the Pinkflag Guitar Orchestra which should feature at least a dozen axe-wielders on stage together.
