Woods, Wild Nothing, Lee Fields, Yumi Zouma & more playing Seaport on 4th of July weekend (free)
The Festival of Independence returns to South Street Seaport on July 4th Weekend, this year expanding to two days (July 3 & 4) with a bigger lineup of free music. On Sunday, July 4 you can see Wild Nothing, Porches, Yumi Zouma (who just played Northside) and Public Access TV on the Noisey stage (Fulton & Water). Then on Monday, July 4 there will be two stages. Woods will headline the Peck Slip stage with The Mystery Lights and The Lemon Twigs (who play NYC tonight), and over at the Noisey stage it’s Lee Fields & The Expressions, D.R.A.M., Phony PPL, MeLo-X, and a DJ set from Jonathan Toubin.
The Festival of Independents will go from 1-9 PM both days and is free and open to the public.
Just a couple weeks after this at the Seaport, it’s the 2016 4 Knots festival with Guided by Voices, Protomartyr, Car Seat Headrest & more. The new indoor Seaport Smorgasburg just opened as well.
