The 2019 Woodsist Festival went down on Saturday (9/28) at Arrowood Farm in Accord, NY, featuring Whitney, Real Estate, Woods, Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee, Hand Habits, Bonny Doon, Wet Tuna, and Anna St. Louis. These bands are friends, and it was a real family affair kind of day, with collaborations and guest appearances throughout. Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker played with three bands; Kevin Morby played as a duo (with Cochemea Gastelum), was joined by Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield at one point and then he brought out Jeremy and Jarvis of Woods and Meg from Hand Habits. Kevin also reclaimed his former role as bassist in Woods for a Songs of Shame 10th anniversary celebration that also included vocalist and tape manipulator G. Lucas Crane. Kevin and Meg also played with Whitney during their set to do Kevin’s “I Have Been to the Mountain.”

The Woods’ set also featured a lovely tribute to David Berman — Jeremy Earle and Jarvis Tavienier produced the Purple Mountains album, and most of Woods played on it, as did Anna St. Louis. They played Purple Mountains’ “All My Happiness is Gone” with Little Wing’s Kyle Field and Anna St. Louis, and then Kevin Morby took lead on Silver Jews’ “Random Rules.” There was also a tribute to Jason Molina featuring Kevin Morby, Waxahatchee and more. Video of those tributes are below.

It was a beautiful, chill day all-around, with lots of families in attendance and kids playing. There was even signature Woodsist beer that was made just for the festival (Arrowood Farm is also a brewery). Photos from Woodsist Festival 2019 are in the gallery above and a few videos are below.
