Phoenix's Woundvac have been kicking around for a few years, offering up a punishing mix of grindcore and more traditional hardcore that takes influence from all across the past 30 years of heavy music but sounds new and fresh. They're releasing their new EP The Road Ahead on September 13 via Corpse Flower Records (pre-order), and we're premiering "The Last Nail." It's got whiplash-inducing grind, a slowed-down breakdown, and more, and the crisp production really helps seal the deal. Vocalist Rich tells us, "The theme of 'The Last Nail' is looking beyond your present experience in an effort to find peace in the mental chaos that comes with sentience. For better or for worse, feelings are fleeting and impermanent. It's most introspective song on the EP." Listen below.
