A couple years back, North Carolina duo Wye Oak played a show with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus here in NYC. They're now releasing a new EP, No Horizon, that features the BYC and will be out July 31 via Merge.

The first single is "AEIOU," a gorgeous, pulsing, orchestral track that makes full use of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus' voices. "This song is about the inadequacy of language," says Jenn Wasner. "It was written around the time that those currently in power took it upon themselves to think that they could minimize the existence of certain people by removing the words that we currently use to define them—like transgender—from use. Language is bigger than the powers that try to control it, but we are so much bigger than language. We are so much more than anything that can be suggested with words."

You can watch the lyric video for "AEIOU" below.

Meanwhile, Jenn Wasner's solo project A Flock of Dimes just signed to Sub Pop and released her first EP for the label.
