We noted that among this year's crop of Record Store Day exclusives was an album of Xiu Xiu covering music from Angelo Badalamenti's score to Twin Peaks. Originally commissioned by Australia’s Gallery of Modern Art for last year's "David Lynch: Between Two Worlds" exhibition, Xiu Xiu has performed it live a few times and then went into the studio with producer Jherek Bischoff to make the LP. Deerhoof's Greg Saunier did the mixing duties and you can stream his intense take on the Twin Peaks theme, "Falling," which was originally sung by Julee Cruise:

Xiu Xiu Plays The Music of Twin Peaks will be out as a double LP on red/blue vinyl. Only 2000 copies will be made. Check out the artwork and tracklist (what, no "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart"?) below.

You can see Xiu Xiu perform the songs of Twin Peaks live in NYC at The Kitchen on April 30 for what they're calling a "special performance." No word on details or tickets just yet. All tour dates are listed below.
