Yaeji playing fests, including Panorama (dates & a new mix)

2017 was a great year for Yaeji and 2018 is already shaping up to be one too. She released two EPs on the GODMODE label last year, both of which made our top albums of 2017 list and which inspired us to name her one of the best new(ish) artists of 2017. She combines so many styles of music, including but not limited to hip hop, dance music, dream pop, and R&B, and she raps, sings, and does spoken word in both English and Korean. She’s clearly an expert beatmaker, and knows her way around a hook too. No matter what language you speak, Yaeji’s music is addictive.

She already took her live show to the Coachella stage this year, and she’s playing several other 2018 festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe. Her live show is just as talked-about as her EPs. For example, here’s an excerpt of The Triangle‘s review of her recent Philly show, which they called “phenomenal”:

The entire crowd rushed the corner where the booth was which was a big surprise since usually at Dolphin Tavern people just keep to their spots and face their friends.

Luckily, my friends and I were already near the DJ booth and had the opportunity to be up close. Since Yaeji’s releases have been a total of ten single songs, we were not surprised to hear her first song to be “raingurl.” This is the most well-known song of her starting career and it made every single person in that moment erupt in complete shock and excitement.

As she played her set, the crowd was intensely showing their gratitude of every song that she had ever released being played by shouting the words and dancing along. My friends and I lost it with every song and danced our hearts away to her beats. The highlight of the night was when I eagerly shouted “we love you Yaeji” and she smiled as everyone shouted it as well.

One of the next festivals that Yaeji plays this year is Panorama. which goes down July 27-29 on Randall’s Island in her hometown of NYC. She plays day one, the same day as The Weeknd, Migos, Father John Misty, The War On Drugs and many more. Tickets for Panorama are still available. All of her dates are listed below.

Yaeji also recently released a mix that she made for No Fun Radio, and you can listen to that below, along with the video for above-referenced fan favorite “Raingurl.”
