Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) protests force-feeding of Guantanamo Bay detainees by experiencing the procedure himself (video)

As the month-long fast of Ramadan starts this evening (7/8), Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) is protesting — and raising awareness of — the force feeding of more than 100 hunger-striking detainees currently being held at Guantanamo Bay by undergoing the prodedure himself and has released a video of it happening.

Many Muslim and human rights groups have urged President Obama to halt force-feeding of prisoners during Ramadan. The video was made by human rights charity Reprieve and Bafta-award winning director Asif Kapadia. You can watch it (via The Guardian) below — it is not pleasant viewing.
