There technically weren’t any Yo La Tengo Hannukah shows last year, but YLT member Ira Kaplan will be taking part in a Passover show in NYC this year. He’s one of many names appearing at the annual Downtown Seder at CIty Winery on April 7, a venue that often hosts Jewish events (like the Klezmer brunch). (The actual Passover actually starts a week later.) Front and rear tables are already sold out, but you can still reserve a middle table.

The lineup is very diverse (and not all music), including famous radio/tv sex therapist Dr. Ruth, folk singer Pete Yarrow (of legendary NYC trio Peter Paul and Mary), former baseball player Art Shamsky (Mets, Reds) who is in the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, singer/songwriter Keren Ann who is Israeli (as are performers David Broza and J.Viewz), Basya Schechter (lead singer of NYC’s American Jewish world music band Pharaoh’s Daughter), City Winery regular David Bromberg, Jewish-themed comedian Jackie Hoffman, Dan Zanes (of the Del Fuegos) and two members of Yiddish theater, Elmore James (not the blues musician) and Zalmen Mlotek.

In related news, Yo La Tengo will appear on Parks & Rec soon.
