You can volunteer in exchange for a kinda-free Panorama ticket

NYC’s inaugural Panorama music festival is this weekend (July 22-24) on Randall’s Island with Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, The National, Sufjan Stevens, Broken Social Scene, and more. Tickets are still available, but you can also (kind of) get in for free by volunteering.

If you work clean-up shifts with Clean Vibes Labor of Love (L.O.L.), they’ll compensate you for the hours you work with a payroll check. This means you do have to buy a three-day pass in advance and you won’t be directly refunded. “You will receive a payroll check (printed or direct deposit) for the hours you work and your wages will be subject to payroll taxes. As a result, the NET amount of money you receive at the end of the event could be slightly less than the amount of money you pay for the ticket to the event based on your taxes. You will, however, GROSS the full amount of the ticket cost.”

You can work during the festival, doing one 1PM-6PM or 4PM-9PM shift a day. If you chose that option, you have the opportunity to choose at least on act one the festival that you would not like to miss.

You can also be a nightly after show worker, doing a shift from 11PM-4AM each night of the festival. And lastly, you can be a post-show worker, cleaning up from 10AM-6PM on the Monday and Tuesday after the festival. Lunch will be provided for post-show volunteers.

There’s a $20 fee to apply for the program. Sign up and get more details here.
