Young Widows singer Evan Patterson is Jaye Jayle, releasing a 7" on Jade Tree (stream & video)

Jaye Jayle is the solo project of Young Widows frontman Evan Patterson. He put out “The Road to New Mexico” 7″ earlier this year on Hawthorne Street Records, and he’s now set to follow that with another single, “The Beast Keeps Cool,” on September 9 via Jade Tree Records who also put out the first Young Widows album. Unlike the abrasive noise rock of his main band, with Jayle Jayle Evan makes creepy psychedelic music. It’s indebted to some of the cult bands of the late ’60s (the label’s description namedrops Silver Apples which is pretty apt) without being complete worship of that era. Jaye Jayle’s only two dates at the moment are in his hometown of Louisville, one with Disappears and the other with Endless Boogie. Those dates in list format, with the video and stream, below…
