Yves Tumor has been continuing to support his excellent 2018 album Safe In The Hands of Love on tour and, after playing Knoxville, TN’s Big Ears Festival he made his way to Brooklyn for shows at National Sawdust on Monday (3/25) and Tuesday (3/26). The Monday night show was a full-band show and the Tuesday night show was an A/V set featuring Ezra Miller.

We caught the full-band show and, as we also witnessed when Yves opened for Blood Orange in Central Park last year, his full-band truly rocks and they’re a lot more lively than you might have expected from an electronics-oriented artist like Yves. They played lots of favorites off the new album, including “Honesty,” “Noid,” “Lifetime,” and “Licking an Orchid,” for which Yves was joined by James K (who’s also on the studio version of that song). Opener Hirakish joined them on stage for the last few songs too. Yves also played a few new songs, including a Bowie-esque song called “Superstar” that already has us excited to hear what he releases next. Pictures of the National Sawdust show are in the gallery above (including one of the setlist).

Yves also just put out a new video for “Lifetime” this week, directed by Floria Sigismondi. Watch that below too. Next month, Yves plays Coachella.
